Before I received my machine I could not walk any

 Warning:
Do NOT buy any Whole Body Vibration Machine

1. First and Most
Important, make sure the machine is a fulcrum based unit (means
is has an oscillating movement like a see saw...see picture
below left) and is not a vertical displacement unit (platform
only goes up and down like a jack-hammer...below right). Almost
all whole body vibration units on the market are vertical
displacement.
This is critical because ALL and I mean all of the original
research was done with oscillating machines. Most websites I
have seen plagurize those original studies when the machines
they sell DO NOT EVEN MOVE THE SAME WAY!! This is outright
deception in my opinion.
Also, vertical displacement machines cannot use as much
amplitude and can also cause wear and tear on the knees.
Oscillating units (like the K-1) involve the pelvis and allow
for a larger amplitude (more force) with less wear and tear on
the joints. As a side note, I personally know of 2 people who
have used the top of the line vertical displacement models and
suffered knee problems.
2. The Second
thing to look for in a Whole Body Vibration Machine is the right
frequency range (the number of times the platform vibrates a
second). Research has shown that the peak frequency range for
benefiting the muscles is 18-27 vibrations a second or Hertz
(Hz). This is based on the natural contraction and relaxation
cycles of the muscles resulting in reinforement or resonance.
Any machines boasting high frequencies can be dangerous and
actually have a negative effect on the muscles. Lower
frequencies simply do not have enough benfit. Levels 7-10 on the
K-1 operate in this optimal range which is the only settings I
personally recommend.
3. Thirdly, Make
sure the unit has sufficient amplitude to create enough force. I
have actually tested all of the competitor oscillating systems
and only the K-1 compares in intensity to the Galileo. Other
units may be less expensive, but they lack the proper amplitude,
which means you hardly feel like you are getting a workout.
4. The fourth
thing to look for is quality of construction. Many cheaper
models are, well cheaply made. The K-1 is durable
construction and actually is certified for commercial use.
I personally ran my K-1 for 3 straight days CONTINUOUSLY with no
problem whatsoever. I also know of a clinic that runs the
machine all day long and it has never broken down.
Beware of
the Vibra-trim, Vibra-slim, Crazy Fit Massage, and the Vibrapro

I
will be 62 years old in January 2007, and have been ill
since I was six weeks old. The doctors said I had little
